As Nigeria children joined their counterparts around the world and celebrated this year’s Children’s Day, the President, Ray of Hope Empowerment Foundation (ROHEF), Mrs. Christybella John has called on Nigerians to use the Day, to pray vehemently for the quick release of the Abducted over 200 School girls of Government Girl Secondary School, in Chibok, Borno State.
Mrs. John made the call during the Foundation’s visit to Karu Children’s home, in Abuja, in commemoration of the Day with orphans in the home.
She said as mark of serious concern and honour for the abducted Chibok girls who are still held hostage by their abductors, the occasion should be used as a time for passionate prayers for divine intercession in the situation.
According to her, the Foundation is deeply concerned over the fate of those school girls who are still languishing in an unknown destination, hence the need for intercessory prayers even as both foreign and local security operatives do everything possible to secure their immediate release.
The Foundation, which engages in empowerment programmes for the less privilege, provision of free Malaria treatment drugs to rural dwellers amongst others, also used the occasion to put smiles on orphans in the Home.
Some of the items presented to the home by the Foundation, includes, Books, toiletries, Food Items, cosmetics, writing materials and amongst others.
A Member board of trustees of the Foundation, Mrs Patricia Bagudu, said the visit to home was ith s demonstration of care and love for children, especially the less privilege in the society, which would go a long way in helping them to overcome some life challenges.
She called on other organisations and spirited Nigerians to key into charity work by identifying with orphans and other less privileged children around them.
“This is Children’s Day, and our foundation deem it proper to be with these children in the orphanage home , who are special gifts from God, so that they will feel the Impact of people outside there”, Bagudu said.
On his part, the representative of the Administrator of the Home, Mr. Felix Wade, who thanked members of the Foundation for their kind gesture, also acknowledged other Nigerians who have been coming to the home with gifts items.
“This Ray Hope Foundation came in a special way that has impacted on these kids under our watch and we are highly appreciative to them,” he said.
