The #BringBackOurGirls movement has lamented that the Nigeria Guild of Editors has refused to collaborate with the movement to campaign for the release of over 200 missing Chibok girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect.
Speaking yesterday at the daily sit-out of 129 days of the girls in captivity, the Group said despite, “the power of the media that is very vital” for the advocacy, the guilds of editors have not contributed much to the campaign.
The Group buttressed that; it was only the social media that have spread the campaign of bring back the girls.
Similarly, the group said the social media cannot be estimated, since the main stream media has not been putting so much.
The social media messages about the abducted girls have compelled reactions and actions from the governments.
The group observed that, apart from the international media the domestic media has supported the #BBOG movement by keeping the campaign alive and their voices been heard.
The group said the government has dismissed all options to bring the girls back. “What we asking is where are our daughters?”, they retorted.
