The Director of State Security Service (SSS) Mr. Ita Ekpeyong, has said that Federal Government cannot afford to exclude any option in their quest to secure the release of kidnapped Chibok girls.
Ekpeyong informed that what is important is how to bring them back safely without endangering their lives and government is making efforts to secure their release, saying they know where they are.
He told newsmen on Monday at the Presidential Vila after the National Security Council meeting presided by President Goodluck Jonathan that efforts are in top gear to affect the release of the girls.
Flanked by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, he said, “The issue of Chibok girls, government is making efforts. We know where they are but we don’t want to endanger their lives that is the truth we want to take it gradually and release them at the appropriate time. We know where they are you can go to bed with that”.
Ekpeyong restated federal government’s commitment on the fight against terrorism. He said the fight against Boko Haram is on-going.
