Chemical society honours NAFDAC boss

The Director General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Ohii has been conferred with an honorary fellowship award by the chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), for his remarkable contributions to the growth of chemistry and development of science in the country.

In a statement issued yesterday, the President, Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Dr. Shettima Abdulkadir Saidu commended Dr Ohii for showing his passion for chemical safety by establishing the chemical evaluation and Research Directorate, in order to ensure technological advancement in chemical sciences, while also bringing chemistry to lime light.

He said, “Dr Orhii in his passion for chemical safety, recognition for chemistry and the technological advancement in chemical sciences established the Chemical Evaluation and Research Directorate in order to further promote, improve and sustain the regulation of chemicals towards achieving the strategic approach to International Chemicals Management in Nigeria”

Ohii, who was honoured alongside the governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, also dedicated his award to NAFDAC staff for their support while commending the Federal Government for the full co-operation the agency had received in its fight against drug counterfeiting
