As part of the ongoing inspection of the implementation of the 2014 capital expenditure of the National Sports Commission, the Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo has called on the contractor handling the construction of the mini sports centre at Chori in Jaba Local Government of Kaduna State to speed up work on the project so that it can be commissioned in January 2015.
The Minister made this call while inspecting the project at Jaba in Kaduna State. The Minister who was on the project site to see for himself the progress of work which was awarded by the National Sports Commission expressed satisfaction. He promised to approve more funds for the contractor so as to enable him complete it before December 2014.
“I am happy that the project is ongoing and satisfied with the progress of work so far, if need be more funds will be released so that the work is completed on time for commissioning”, he told the contractor handling the project.
Earlier, the contractor, Mr. Tunde Alabi explained that the mini sports centre which has an indoor sports hall and two outdoor courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis have a land area of 150 square metres.
Alabi also lamented the financial challenges his company has been facing, to which the Minister promised to look into through the prompt release of fund.
