Gender inequality acknowledges that men and women are not equal and that gender affects an individual’s life experience. These differences arise from distinctions in biology, psychology, and cultural norms. Some of these distinctions are empirically grounded while others appear to be socially constructed. Studies show the different lived experience of genders across many domains including education, life expectancy, personality, interests, family life, careers, and political affiliations. Gender inequality is experienced differently across different cultures in different perspectives as well.
Gender inequality in Nigeria has became a major challenge to the fact that in whatsoever perspective Men are mostly recommended than women thinking that Men has higher capacity to withstand and run multiple task interms of service delivery except for advertising purposes to the fact that even in politics perspective women are considered as minors to extend level that today in Nigeria women in most cases are denied the opportunity for both Presidential and gobernotorial tickets to participate and exercise their franchise, so also applicable to other affairs of the country as well, for instance if you can take a look at the past administration of ministerial nominees you will notice that Men are given much more priority than women candidates to the fact that in the whole list you will notice that women are not given consideration up to 40% out of 100% quarter for gender privilege.
So also applied to other sectors women are considered minors, when you go to various ministries, parastatals, private agencies and other sectors, most of their Staff/Manpower are Men though, there are women but they are not much mostly women are just use as motorist or vechicle of marketing, you will get to see women equal in number with Men population interms of service delivery or discharging office work only when it comes to issue of marketing and advertising which rearly is not good as such there right has been deprived as such act need to be reviewed.
Here in our African countries particularly Nigeria just consider that women are just main for kitchen and the other room as stated earlier by his Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that there is no office for FirstLady in his regime, though that is a wish of our amiable Commander in chief of the Arm forces.
You will also notice that parents always promote Education of their Male children thereby neglecting Girl Child Education in most cases thinking that the moment when woman get married she will no longer be useful to her parents talk less of taking care of the family members, forgetting that women take care of their parents much more better than Men, a typical example is Whenever parents got seek you will notice that is the female daughter that will first start to leave her husband’s compound to come and look after the parents in some instances Men cannot come to see how you are feeling they will just phone you and transfer fund for the one’s that can even think positively.
Forgetting the other way round of womens capabilities, capacity, credibility, and tenacity are far better than what other Men are delivering, for example if we can recall and trace back to history of past regime that is Dr. Goodluck Ebele Johnathan’s administration women had did far more better than Men of that regime to the fact that Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala in which she was a material in global economy transformation an Economist, also recommended as international Development Expert Financially and Economically as well as Former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Allison Diezani Madueke even though she was accused of corruption, but if we look at how they contributed positively to developmental issues you will just say that what do the Men waiting interms of featuring and projecting plans of forthcoming situation through ideological initiatives of their high thinking capacity to the fact that Mrs Okonjo prosfer a target plan that it will soon get to a point that Nigeria will enter into economic recession in forthcoming recession and we had all experienced such fact and let us not forget that she is a Woman projecting what many Men cannot.
Finally I will like to tell Nigerians that let us give equal opportunity to women as well to exercise their franchise, also mingle altogether in all the nation’s related affairs to see whether if can discharge their initiatives in accordance or not before judging them according to their performance if fail to deliver as Men fine, but if performed and highly recommended then we should continue supporting them not always neglecting and subjecting them to be in kitchen always as they are our mothers, sisters, cousins as well, let’s let’s join hand and promote our mothers to also take part of playing vital roles to the development of our society equally as Men as that will promote peace harmony and unity between the two Genders if given equal opportunity for equal participation in all affairs of the Nation.
