The suit filed before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja seeking for the removal of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu has been withdrawn by the two plaintiffs, Emanuel Onu and Ezionye Louis Ndubuisi.
The plaintiffs, Emanuel Onu and Ezionye Louis Ndubuisi had earlier filed separate suits no. FHC/ABJ/C5/729/14 and FHC/ABJ/C5/678/14 on October 13 and September 2014 respectively, against the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Adamu Mu’azu and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and was earlier filed challenging the legitimacy of Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu as the PDP Chairman.
The complainant, who announced the withdrawal in a joint press conference at the PDP secretariat, said they are doing so due to the overriding interest of the party alongside fresh evidence and documents provided by INEC satisfying the legitimacy of the appointment of the Alhaji Admau Mu’azu as acting PDP Chairman.
According to the complainants, “We wish to officially announce and state that we have withdrawn the above suit seeking to remove the PDP National Chairman from office adding that “in furtherance of the above we have filled a different notice of discontinuance of the suit at the Federal High Court , Abuja dated October 27, 2014”.
The complainants also state that, “the court have officially served all the parties with the notice, thereby bringing to an end the legal challenge over the appointment of the Adamu Mu’azu as the PDP National chairman”.
The press conference and statement was signed by barrister Elochukwu Nnweke counsel to the plaintiffs and issued to Peoples Daily yesterday.
