A 25-year-old carpenter, Daniel Agudu, of Sahara Estate, Galadimawa, Abuja, has appeared in a Wuse Zone 2, Senior Magistrates’ Court charged with joint act and causing grievous hurt.

The police prosecutor, Cpl. Anigbo Paul, told the court that Mr Abdullahi Onana of Galadimawa village, Abuja, reported the case at Lugbe Police Station.

Paul said that after the complainant had eaten at a restaurant, the accused and two others now at large jointly followed him home and beat him up.

He said that the accused stabbed the complainant with horn and also hit him with plank, thereby sustaining serious injuries.

He said that the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Penal Code.

The Magistrate, Mrs Grace Adebayo-Esape, admitted him to bail for N100, 000 with two sureties. She ordered that the sureties must be businessmen in any AMAC shopping complex and show a means of identification.

Adebayo-Esape added that the sureties must swear to an affidavit, submit a passport photograph each and must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction. She adjourned the case to May 5 for further hearing. (NAN)
