The Egure Oshiomoshiofu of Igarra in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, Chief Adewole Mayaki, has described the plot by some members of the party against the re-election bid of the State governor, Godwin Obaseki as an exercise in futility.
The Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC who spoke to newsmen yesterday in Benin City, was reacting to a meeting which was conveyed by a former House of Representatives member in the State,
Samson Osagie where the later criticised the hard-line posture of the Obaseki led administration at held at the Weekend in Benin City.
Mayaki however sided with Governor Obaseki on good governance especially in areas of provision of basic amenities and leadership style. He described those campaigning against Obaseki’s return bid as “hungry people and sycophants who do not mean well for the well-being of the generality of the people of the State.
“He (Obaseki) has done well for the generality of Edo people. We are happy our son was appointed as the Chief of staff which is a plus to us.
“He has created employment and empowerment for our people”. “All Akoko-Edo and Edo North will vote massively for Obaseki second term.
“Obaseki is our son and we should give him a second term to complete his second term”.
“Obaseki is more interested in giving dividents of democracy to the ordinary people these are the people that will give him the votes when the time comes.
“Those crying are only interested in their stomach” He further added noted that the perceived differences between Obaseki and Oshiomhole will be resolved amicably”, he said.
