A traditional titleholder, ‘Dan-Malikin’ of Dakwa community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mohammed Alkwandawi, has called on the chairman of the area council, Hon. Peter Yohanna Ushafa, to provide basic amenities for the residents in the area.
He also urged the chairman to join hands with the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed to build a standard hospital in the community, to stop people from travelling out to the neighboring towns for medical attention.
Alkwandawi, who made the call in an interview with Peoples Daily, in Dakwa, further urged the chairman to construct boreholes, to boost potable drinking water supply in the area.
He decried that despite persistent appeals to the chairman to rehabilitate several dilapidated roads within the community, as had been done by the council to address the issue.
Also, he ppealed to the chairman to build a senior secondary school in the community, to enable their children to have access to educational facility without traveling long distances to other nearly towns.
He equally requested the chairman to install transformers at the strategic places in the community, to boost electricity supply for the people.
The Dan-Malikin Dakwa, who is also the Chief of Islamic Scholars in Bwari Yamman, however, pointed out that he had carried out some self-help projects in the community where the government had failed to do so.
Continuing, he said that some projects executed include; building of primary/nursery schools, construction of boreholes in Tudun Nasara, building of Health centre in Dakwa; and building of a vigilante office in the community among others.
