Kaduna State metropolis has bounced back into business activities following relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state following the Covithed-19 looting.
State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, stated this after security assessment.
He said Government accepted the recommendations for a significant relaxation of the curfew in 21 LGAs.
He however said that the 24-hour curfew will continue in Chikun and Kaduna South LGAs until further notice.
A visit to the popular Shiekh Abubakar Gumi market showed that shop owners as early as 7am Tuesday thronged the various gates at the market eager to commence the day’s business.
At the State Secretariat along the Independence Way, civil servants were seen moving into their various offices. But some civil servants were unable to resume due to the 24-hour curfew in Chikun and Kaduna south LGAs.
Similarly, the popular Ali Akilu road, witnessed traffic gridlocked because of large turn out of commuters. This is opposite of yesterday when the streets were virtually empty.
