Chief of army staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has assured more proactive measure in tackling insecurity bedeviling North Eastern part of the country.
The Army Chief made this known on Thursday during an operational tour units of Nigeria Army when he paid a courtesy call on Gombe state governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at Government House chamber.
He said his tour to operational units of the Nigeria Army is to encourage troops of operation lafiya dole to put more zeal in the fight against insecurity.
“We remain commitment, and we promise to do more until the fight is over”, he said.
In his bit to encourage troops the chief of Army staff in his operational tour visited Katsina, Zamfara and Jigawa states with a view of combating insecurity in the areas.
While thanking governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the provision of land to build the permanent site of 301 artillery regiment in Gombe he promised a cordial relationship between the Army and Gombe state government.
He said the Nigeria Army is always there to protect lives and property of citizens and appreciated with the government for carrying security agencies alone in their activities.
Lt Gen Buratai also inspects some of the projects belonging to 301 artillery regiment of the Nigeria Army in Gombe.
He called on Gombe state government not to hesitate in supporting Army university Biu where it’s indigents were admitted.
The Army Chief was accompanied by top military officers, including GOC 3 Division, Brigadier General M. Danmidami.
