The team said the idea to have the association chapters was brought up at a meeting it held this year.

It said, it intends to contact successful alumni in power and in top positions at government and private organisations to convince them to join the association.

It said, it second priority was what it described as ‘social responsibility’ such as; renovation of structures in the university and tackling some of the challenges facing the University as a way of giving back to the school what it had given them.

She said part of the associations’ plan was to revive activities on campus that add value to Nigeria’s culture that were functional in the hay days of the university.

Also speaking, Public Relations Officer of the association, AbdulAziz AbdulAziz, said prominent alumni had been identified and would be visited by the leadership of the association soon to seek for their moral guidance.

Responding, the Chief Operating Officer of Peoples Media Limited, Malam Ali .M. Ali, who congratulated the new Exco for emerging winners at the election that brought them to office, commended them for sacrificing their time to revive the alma meter.

He said with the combination of members of the association, comprising of experienced young vibrant, middle-aged and elderly members, he has no doubt that the members would do their best and give their best to the university.
