Buhari remains only credible candidate to beat – Riruwai

Kano state House of Assembly member, Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim Riruwai has said that President Muhammadu Buhari remains the only credible candidate that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) can present to retain power come 2019 general elections.
Riruwai, who is representing Doguwa local government are of the state in the house, made the disclosure yesterday in Kano when he received the Northwest Team of the Buhari Friends Organisation Network (BFON) on courtesy visit.
He further buttressed that the incumbent president was the only politician that Nigerians irrespective of their religion, ethnic and party affiliation believed to be untainted in all aspects of live.
His words, “We should all thank God that Nigeria is politically progressing. Today we have reached to a point where Nigerians have started differentiating between tainted and untainted politicians.
This is a step forward in the development of democracy. We should all appreciate the APC, a political party that produced an untainted candidate.”
Ibrahim warned Nigerians to be wary of politicians campaigning against Buhari, urging Nigerians to give the president a second chance to complete the good projects he have started.
“Four years will never be enough for him to complete the good works he commenced. Since he is tested and trusted and he is performing, we should therefore support him to win the 2019 presidential election in order to complete the projects he started. Buhari has initiated road projects, empowerment programmes and he needs our support to finish them,” he said.
Riruwai also commended Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for adopting the culture of continuity in his leadership style, noting the incumbent governor had completed many capital projects that were started by his predecessors.
Earlier, the Northwest Zonal Coordinator of Organisation, Alhaji Kabir Oro Kauran-Namoda, said members of the organisation were in Kano to launch the BFON’s campaign for Buhari’s 2019 presidential ambition.
Kauran-Namoda explained that the organisation had been campaigning for Buhari since he was in the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (NPP) and later Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), assuring that they would continue to campaign for him because of his good qualities and political ideologies.
“We have launched our campaign in Kano today (yesterday) and the next meeting will be in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state and it will continue like that until we cover all the states in the northwest. President Buhari needs our support and we will not relent in drumming supporting for him” he noted.
