The Federal Government has been lauded for putting mechanism of ensuring prompt payment of salaries and allowances of the military troops undertaking the fight against insurgency in the North East and other parts of the country.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai made the commendation in Yola weekend stressing that the troops remain grateful with the development pledging to do more in maintaining peace and security in the zone and country at large.
Represented by the Brigade Commander of 23 Brigade, Yola , Brig. Gen. Bello Muhammad during the celebration of the annual West African Social Activities (WASA) organized by the brigade,Buratai charged troops to reciprocate by giving fruitful results in the fight against insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
The commander said that the brigades had succeeded in clearing Boko haram in its Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) comprising Mubi, Gombi, Garkida, Hong and other neigbouring communities.
In his remark, Gov. Muhammadu Bindow represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr Martins Babale lauded the army for organizing the social event to interact with other members of the public.
