The authorities of Nigerian Army has said that the force takes its time to carefully plan every operations in the ongoing war against terrorism in the north east, to ensure that collateral damages are reduced to it barest minimum/
The army noted that troops have recaptured several towns and localities from the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
The Director of Army Public Relations, (DAPR) Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye stated this yesterday in Abuja, while addressing journalist on latest developments in the counter insurgency operations in the north east.
Laleye said troops have recovered Gombi, Hong, Uba, Makera, Mubi, Vimtim amongst other town in Adamawa state, noting that the current offensive posture by the troops will be sustained until the sect is completely defeated.
He maintained that the bedrock of the army is discipline, adding that its achievement will be difficult to sustain if decisive steps are not taken in enforcement of its regulations and laws in line with the constitution.
The DAPR also said the army has three General Court Marshal currently on-going in Abuja, Lagos and Jos trying erring officers and soldiers for various offences some of whom have been sentenced while others have been acquitted according to military jurisprudence.
He assured that Nigerian army will support necessary election agencies and play its role in the 2015 general elections in accordance to the lawful given directives by constitutional rights.
