Adamawa Government has re-iterated its commitment to continue to sustain the three square meals to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
A statement by the Director, Press Affairs to Gov Bala Ngilari, Mr. Phineas Elisha, said apart from the meals, government would also ensure the supply of constant water and healthcare facilities.
“This administration will also ensure that the makeshift classes for primary and secondary school pupils in the camp introduced by this administration is sustained alongside the provision of sporting facilities and skills acquisition programme to interested IDPs”, the statement said.
It also noted that the resources available to the state were over stretched and urged for more assistance from federal government.
“We, therefore, call on the federal government while appreciating its efforts so far, to increase its assistance to IDPs in the state.
“We equally call on International donor agencies as well as wealthy Nigerians to come to the aid of the IDPs”, the statement said.
It also appealed to federal government and human right group to work towards actualizing the ceasefire agreement reached with Boko Haram for a lasting solution to the problem.
It also condemned those it described as mischief makers for trying to frustrate and politicized the federal government efforts to end the insurgency.
