Bank of Industry (BOI) has been announced as Platinum sponsorship for the third-edition of Nigeria Mining Week.
The event is scheduled to take place in Abuja from 15 to 17 October 2018.
Speaking during a Press Conference, Mrs Olayinka Mubarak, group head, Solid Minerals and Metals at the Bank of Industry said: ‘’Nigeria is blessed with several mineral resources and there is need for collective effort by stakeholders to move the mining sector forward ‘’.
She further explained that ‘’ the government has done a lot to address the various challenges facing the mining sector’’.
‘’This would include creating an enabling environment for both local and foreign investors, growth in the mining sector and export of refined minerals from Nigeria’’.
According to Mubarak, ‘’ Bank of Industry supports alot of projects in the industry particularly a company in a very rural community that makes steel products such as rebars, strip steel and wires rods. The most exciting aspect of this project is the indirect employment it has generated as well as the businesses that are springing up around the company’’.
“Nigeria Mining Week is the largest gathering of miners in Nigeria. Last year it had international participants from over 13 countries and has continued to evolve over the years. The event also has a match making platform for would be investors and also offers a mentoring program,” she added.
The event is organized by Miners Association of Nigeria in partnership with Sprintelligent, PWC Nigeria and the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.
Nigeria Mining Week offers a one-stop-shop to engage directly with policy makers, financiers and mining investors as well as the opportunity to gain the most current information on geophysical data on the resources available to explore in Nigeria.
The third annual event will provide a platform to engage with over 700 small scale miners through MAN; several Nigerian states displaying and promoting opportunities in small and medium scale mining and over 100 mining and exploration companies.
