Bida LG chair donates medical items, othersfor COVID- 19 preventive measures

In its efforts to complement the State Government in tackling the pandemic Corona Virus outbreak yesterday, the Chairman Bida Local Government Hon Suleiman Sheshi has donated some medical items such as drugs, face masks, hand gloves, and other medical equipment as well as 150 bags of rice to the people in the area.
Presenting the items to the Director in charge of healthcare Hajiya Amina yesterday, the chairman said that the gesture is to support the State Government in its effort to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
He said that the Council deemed it necessary to support Niger State Government on the fight against the pandemic disease.
He said the gesture was part of the Local Government social responsibility to support the well-being of people in the state.
“As we are all aware, Covid 19 pandemic is disturbing the world and the Council deemed it necessary to support the fight against the disease, he said.
He explained further that the 200 bags of Rice will be shared and distributed to the wards across the Bida, Local Government, urged them to remain calm as the state and Federal Governments are working hard to ensured the very body will not be contacted.
He thank his Council members and his Royal Father the Emir of Bida, security agents for their support towards promoting unity in the area and ensured that lives and properties of the people have been protected.
He equally commended the people of Bida Local Government for supporting the state in its trying period. He promised that the items would be judiciously utilized in the fight against Covid 19.
Responding, the Director in charge of the Healthcare department Hajiya Amina thanks the Chairman for supporting it’s people, assuring him of sharing the items accordingly.
“this is the first time we are have the chairman that as the interest of its people at heart, you are now give us sense of belonging by allowing us to enjoy the dividend of democracy” she added.
