The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has commended the immediate past Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, (FCDA), Engr. Adamu Ismaila, for the development of infrastructures in the Territory.
According to him, the achievements recorded in infrastructural development during the years under review could not have been possible without the professional advise of the former Executive Secretary.
Bello, who made the commendation while reviewing his mid term in office, noted with nostalgia the passion and dedication shown by the former Executive Secretary during his tenure, urging all management staff of the FCT Administration to emulate such spirited Nigerian in the service of fatherland.
His words: “On assessing my mid term achievements, I must recognized with nostalgia the immense contributions of Engr. Ismaila Adamu, the former Executive Secretary of FCDA, who during his tenure has shown tremendous dedication in the development of the city.
“His services for 35 years in the territory cannot be swept under the carpet. I called on others to follow suit.”
He, specifically noted some of infrastructural works being initiated during the tenure of Ismaila to include the eastern portion of the Inner Southern Express Way Bridge, award of the Villa Roundabout Bridge project; a major component of the Outer Northern Expressway, ONEX, namely the Murtala Mohammed Expressway and the B6 and B12 bridges otherwise known as Constitution and Independence Roads respectively.
Meanwhile, the minister used the occasion to reveal that the administration has completed the 16.5Km Kuje-Gwagwalada bypass road traversing major agricultural firms and farmlands and could break gridlocks on the Gwagwalada road, adding that the 15km Apo-Karshi road is ongoing.
According to him, “We hope it would alleviate the difficulties faced by commuters from Mararaba, Nyanya and Karu axis. We are also planning another bypass on the Keffi-Nyanya road, that would link up at the Mpape area.
“Work is also ongoing at the ONEX Dutse-Alhaji link road. The Administration has secured approval of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, of the sum of N2.6Billion for massive construction of road infrastructure within the satellite town of Karu Phase 2.”
