The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, has assured residents of intensified effort towards the completion of the major road linking Life Camp, Kado fish market and Karmo areas of the Territory.
Bello gave the assurance yesterday when he inspected and opened the completed section of the road connecting the busy Kado and Jabi Airport axis, which he said would be sigh of relief to motorists plying the road.
He lamented that the state of the road before now at the Life Camp/ Karmo Fish market portion of road does not justify fund spent on the project.
According to him: “I am very happy delighted also, the whole Idea of a city is to have roads that are functional, and as you can see a lot of money has been spent on that other portion of the road.
“And for so many years their are no connectivity so really the full value of the road was never received but now with this section that has been completed.
“The other one under construction,
I do hope that in the next few weeks there would be full functionality of the road so that they move to other part of the city.”
He however appealed to motorist to be patient and comply with traffic officials, saying that when the job is completed and the traffic light is in place motorist movement on the road would be smoother.
The Executive Secretary Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Umar Jibrin Gambo, assured that the road works would be completed in the next two months.
Some of the road users thanked the administration for intensifying works on the road, to ameliorate the plight of the people.
They expressed joy over the completion of the construction of the road, which they said was abandoned since 2014, even as they appealed for the speedy completion of the ongoing construction of the second section of the road.
