The Area Commander of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in charge of Tafa, Lapai, Suleja and Gurara in Niger State, ACC Abdullahi Salau, has urged the men and the officers of the corps to be bold in tackling the security in anywhere they found themselves.
Salau, who stated this while addressing the crowd after he was conferred with media merit award of a distinguished ‘Visionary Protector’ by the management of the Orator Communications Limited, the publishers of the Orator weekly Newspaper on Wednesday in Suleja.
He also charged the men of the corps to remain stead-fast in their dedication to duty, calling on them to always work together in order to move the security sector to the next level.
His words: “Any security man or officer who does not have questionable character can excel anywhere in the security sector”.
He pointed out that his administration would continue to take the staff of the command along irrespective of their tribal and religious inclinations.
ACC Salau, therefore, used the award ceremony as a forum to commend the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana for the necessary support accorded to the staff of the corps across the country, while praising the Niger State Commandant of NSCDC, Philip Ayuba for being supportive to the command.
In a similar development, a distinguished ‘Visionary Detective Award’ was bestowed on the Divisional Officer of NSCDC, Suleja Division, and CSC Dodo Timothy Kato by the Orator Communications Limited.
However, ACC Abdullahi Salau and CSC Dodo Timothy Kato, both thanked the authorities of the Orator Communications Limited for the honors done to them.
Performing the award ceremony, the managing Editor of the Orator weekly Newspaper, Mr. Nasir Oseni, said the meritorious awards were conferred on ACC Salau and CSC Kato for their outstanding contributions to the security outfit, and hailed them for waging war against criminals in the area.
Meanwhile, some of the personnel of the corps in Suleja Division who spoke during the occasion, expressed appreciations for the honours done to their Area Commander and Divisional Officer.
