From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters under the aegis of the Bauchi Youth Volunteers Forum has vowed to reject imposition of candidates by the leaders of party in the state, threatening to dump the party, just as they appealed to the leaders, Governor Isa Yuguda and PDP National Chairman, Ahmadu Muazu to close ranks.
The chairman of the forum, Alhaji Inuwa Danladi, disclosed this while interacting with journalists in Bauchi , saying that members of the PDP and people of Bauchi will surely reject any imposition of candidates on them by anybody or leaders of the party.
“We will not support the person and in fact we can even dump the PDP for another party in search of a suitable and acceptable candidate from other zones that have never govern the state” he said.
Inuwa Danladi said, we will tour the 20 LGAs and tell the people not to vote the person they presented because he is not going to represent the interest of the state.
“The good thing is that they wouldn’t because I know them very well as men of honour and will not want to do anything that will jeopardize the fortune of PDP in the state.”
According to him, the fair thing to do is for the gladiators and power brokers of the state to heed to the principles of zoning by ensuring that come 2015, power shifts from Bauchi South to Bauchi Central.
“The former governor of the state, Alhaji Mu’azu who governed the state for good eight (8) is from Bauchi South and Yuguda who is in his seventh and half years is also from Bauchi South while the Bauchi North (Katagum) had tasted power before and it would only be fair for the power to shift to Bauchi Central who have never had the chance of ruling the state even for one hour, so that they too can have the taste of power and then see what they can offer. I can assure you that if you present a candidate from Bauchi Central everybody regardless of his or her zone, would surely support such a candidate but anything contrary to that it will spell doom for PDP in Bauchi” Danladi said.
“Rotating power from Bauchi South to Bauchi Central will go a long way in promoting democracy in the state and is in line with the views of world democrats” he said.
He said “my appeal to Yuguda, Mu’azu and FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed is that they should close ranks and chose the right candidate who will transforms the state”.
