From Ahmad Mohammed, Bauchi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State Chapter, has elected its new executives that will run the affairs of the party for the next four years.
The election of the new State Executives of the party comes two months to the local governments elections in the State.
The congress which was held at the Multipurpose Hall Bauchi, saw the incumbent chairman of the party, Alhaji Hamza Akuyam, re-elected for the second time after scoring 3,000 votes in an unopposed contest, just as other executives also returned unopposed.
Speaking on behalf of the elected officials of the party, the state chairman, Akuyam, promised to work towards the betterment of the party in the state.
While thanking party members for giving them another mandate, Akuyam said they will consolidate on the democratic dividends so far provided by PDP led administration in the state and promised to further take the state to greater heights.
He called on the party faithfuls and stakeholders not to relent in criticising them whenever they err, so as to have a smooth operation of the party in the state.
He pledged to be transparent in the discharge of their responsibilities, even as he reminded his colleagues that justice is the backbone of peace in every setting, hence the need to embrace it.
The State Governor, Bala Mohammad, represented by his Deputy, Baba Tela, commended the delegates for exhibiting high sense of maturity during the exercise.
“The government of Bauchi state and indeed his excellency, requires nothing from you but loyalty and cooperation to move the state forward”, he said.
The Governor commended the chairman and members of the congress deployed from Abuja to conduct the congress for a job well done.
