From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
A non-governmental organization, the Bauchi State Good Governance Initiative Coalition, has described the state PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Mohammed Ali Pate as the kind of leader that would provide community deriving projects, which is the universal approach to achieving credible leadership and result oriented projects.
The encomium came from the coalition, comprised mostly of practicing lawyers, accountants, medical, and other professions when they visited the NUJ Secretariat to pledge their support to the governorship aspirant.
The coalition, led by barrister Ahmed Sani told the journalists that their support for Dr. Mohammed Ali Pate was borne out of his integrity, honesty, accountability and passion for good governance, and the need to ensure that credible people are voted into political offices especially the position of governor.
Barrister Sani recalled that the gubernatorial aspirant had introduced many progressive ideas and developments to the federal ministry of health when he was the executive director with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA).
Under Pate’s leadership of the agency, the coalition noted, the country witnessed the establishment of 300 Primary HealthCare Centres out of the planned 800, and the introduction of the conditional cash transfer scheme under SURE-P, and various other achievements to his credit.
