The Bauchi State Palliative Committee set up by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has pledged to ensure justice and equity in the discharge of its assigned responsibilities.
The Chairman of the committee who is the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu made the pledge at the inauguration of the committee in Bauchi.
The Emir stressed the need for all hands to be on deck towards supporting authorities to tackle the spread of coronovirus thereby defeating the virus.
“ We will justice the confidence reposed in us as Committee and as citizens of the state. As Emir, I call on all of us to come together to enable government succeed.
Alhaji Rilwanu acknowledged the commitment of the state government in sensitizing citizens on preventive measures against infection with COVID-19.
Speaking shortly after inaugurating the committee, Governor Bala Mohammed said the committee was set to assist his administration in providing palliative to the citizens.
“Your Royal Highness, members of your committee are drawn from the political class, religious and community leaders, business community, seasoned administrators, union leaders and philanthropists.
“We expect members of the committee to bring their wealth of knowledge and experience in the discharge of this responsibilities, we have so much expectations on al of you.”
The State Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela who is the Chairman of the State Task Force on COVID-19,enumerated some of the achievements recorded by the committee in the area of tackling the spread of the virus.
