Defense counsel to the banker, Barrister Sunday Wugira of the S.J.WUGURI & CO.NA-Allah Chambers based in Yola,Adamawa state made the appeal at a press conference stressing a petition for wrongful termination of appointment was submitted to the chairman, House committee on Human Rights in the National Assembly dated 12th September,2017 but no response.
Barristar Wugira explained that their client Adeleke Efuwape was accused by his employers UBA of involvement in a successful fraud of N3.290,000 Million in his branch and was charged to Oyo state High court in 1988.
Wugira said the Bank management dismissed their client after taking the matter to court where subsequently he was discharged and acquitted by the court .
“Our client was arranged before the Oyo state High court of Justice,Ibadan but was finally discharged and acquitted in a ruling delivered by the Justice L.O. Arasi on the 29th day of November,1999 in charge no.1/3c/99 .
“That despite our client’s discharge and acquittal, his employers failed ,refused and neglected to set aside his wrongful dismissal and pay him his entitlements due to him inspite of his pleas.”.wugira added.
