The Sarkin Ruma and district head of Batsari in Katsina state, Alhaji Tukur Mu’azu has appealed to Katsina state government to facilitate the establishment of permanent mobile unit in the area.
The district head made the appeal yesterday while receiving special adviser to the state governor on security, Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina who paid an assessment to the troubled area.
Ruma who was represented by Alhaji Bello Galadima said the establishment permanent Mobile Police unit in the will scare away the bandits and give people confidence to resume their normal businesses.
The monarch pledged that the community will provide free land for the building of the mobile police barrack in the area.
He similarly lamented that the insecurity in the area has forced motorists to abandoned the use of Batsari-Safana road due to the activities of the bandits.
“ If you want to use that road then you should write your Will because the bandits will surely attack you. I want to appeal to the government to make that road safe due to its economic importance” he stressed
He however expressed delight with the government efforts in securing the area, adding that in some parts of the area farmers have returned to their farms.
In his remark, the special adviser on security, Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina has urged stakeholders in the area to assist security agencies in tackling the hoodlums by providing information
He noted that the bandits have no respect for political or religious affiliation, calling on people to complement government efforts in maintaining security.
Katsina stressed that the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari is determined to make sure the state is secure and people returned to their normal daily activities.
He also visited military and police formations in the area where he thanked them for their sacrifice in checking the bandits and protecting peoples lives and property.
