Former Niger Tornadoes tactician, Abubakar Bala, is set to take over as the head coach of Kwara United, according to report.
Coach Bala, it is understood, has agreed personal terms with the Harmony Boys to replace John Obuh in the dugout.
The report further claims that discussions with Bala have been fruitful and that he would be named soon.
The report quoted an unnamed source as saying “Kwara United are in talks with an experienced coach in the person of Coach Bala to manage the team out of relegation waters and maintain their stand in the top flight.
“Discussions have been fruitful so far and we hope to have him in charge of our team on Wednesday.”
Recall that Coach Bala was axed on the eve of the season after guiding Niger Tornados to the 2017 Aiteo Cup final in Lagos.
The Harmony Boys have endured a poor start in the Nigeria Professional Football League, with just three wins from eleven games and are at the base of the log with 11 points.
Last week, news broke that Coach Obuh was sacked but the coach and the club issued disclaimers to the report.
John Sam Obuh has managed several clubs in Nigeria including Kwara United, Sharks F.C of Port Harcourt, Enugu Rangers and one-time Golden Eagles coach (2010 to 2013).
He was in charge of Nigeria’s under-17 team during the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup after leaving Kwara United due to a payment dispute.
Obuh was appointed manager of Kwara United on 16 January 2016.
