The immediate past governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has berated the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of All Progressives Congress (APC) for not providing the
required dividends of democracy despite the availability of resources to the state, hence he said the APC should be voted out in the 2019 general elections.
Muazu Babangida Aliyu gave the charge yesterday in Bida, the headquarters of Niger South Senatorial District (Zone A), when PDP flagged off its 2019 election campaigns.
Aliyu said that the zone was known for oneness and unity in their decisions during elections and should not be different in 2019 by returning the PDP to power, haven received in 2015 as its governorship candidate, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko, whom he said has the experience to bring back the lost glory of development.
He urged the electorates to come out enmass to collect their PVC to vote according to their conscience, haven discovered the failure of the present All Progressives Congress led government and should jealously protect
their vote up to collation centres.
Former governor Aliyu however, raised the alarm that APC has not embarked on campaigns for 2019 because it has concluded plans to rig the forthcoming elections through INEC and security agencies, especially where there are no service providers.
He told people to be watchful in both rural and urban areas and should not allowed rigging to take place, adding that the people should resist intimidation from the security outfits while assuring security agencies of better payment of allowances and salary if they are returned to power.
He declared that the present government has failed to proffer solutions to the nation’s economic challenges and had demonstrated failure and deserved not to be given another chance. He said APC would witnessed more defections from supporters, whom he said have
discovered insincerity by the APC government.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko, in his address, called for patience and rancor free campaign and elections. He however
promised to dualize Bida- Minna road and return free education policy without discrimination.
Nasko reiterated his that his administration will be committed, if voted into power, to giver priority to women and youth empowerment, respect for traditional institutions by returning Durbar and cultural shows, as well as healthcare services and provision of portable water.
He vowed to unite all Nigerlites devoid of age, tribe, zone, religion and origin, adding that he would listen to everybody and provide the required dividends of democracy within the four (4) years he promised to govern the state for fairness.
He noted that the Jama’a Forum would be reinstated, together with Ward Development Project to ensure that everyone is carried along in the state’s development stride which he said will surely reduced burden on the state government.
The State party Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, thereafter presented the party flags to the Senatorial candidate, Hon. Baba Shehu Agaie, three House of Representatives members and eight local government members for 2019 elections.
He also presented certificate of endorsement of Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko and received about 2,000 decampees from the APC and ADP in the zone.
Beji told the crowd to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all other candidates to ensure unity government in the 2019 to ensure massive development of country.
