National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger state has commenced the training of no fewer than 1,250 youths and women out of 38,000 set for the training in the 774 wards in Nigeria.
State Coordinator, Abdulmalik Abubakar made this known yesterday at the orientation ceremony for second batch of 2020 Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (BNOAS) in Minna.
Abubakar noted that the program is to last for three months from September to December.
He said 50 participants from each of the 25 local governments in the state were chosen.
He urged the beneficiaries to pay serious attention to what they will learn, warning that any participant found wanting will be removed while charging them to establish their own businesses to be self reliant.
The Coordinator explained that the beneficiaries were made to make their chosen skills and advised them to make judicious use if the opportunity available to them maximally.
