The National U-15 male football coach Danladi Nasidi yesterday said that the team would make the country proud in the African Youth Games (AYG).
The game is schedule to hold from May 22 to May 31 in Botswana.
Nasidi who made this known in an interview with newsmen assured Nigerians that the team had trained so hard to prepare for the competition.
He however said that the players had been properly checked by the medical team; stating that all the players were fit with no case of injury.
According to the coach, being the maiden edition, the players’ psyches have to be worked on to give them that confidence that they can win the trophy.
“We are going there to win. The boys are fit, there is no injury.
“The doctors did their job, and Sports Ministry, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has also done their job.
“All the motivation needed and otherwise have been given to the boys, and as an old teacher, I have to work on them psychologically in motivating them also.’’
Nasidi also speaking on the draws with Nigeria, Dr Congo, Tanzania and the host country Botswana in Group A, said he had no fears at all facing the host country.
He said he had so much confidence on his team to deliver, adding that the team also had no fear at all to face other countries.
