AUN cooperative society gives scholarship to 150 students

The American University of Nigeria,AUN Community Cooperative Society has assisted one hundred and fifty(150) students of Government Day Secondary School Yola Town with scholarship by settling their school fees for the next coming second and third terms.
Presenting the letters of scholarship to the students at the school in Yola Friday,Vice president of the society,Miss Kuve Vandi said that,in line with the cooperate social responsibilities of the society,GDSS Yola was selected to benefit from the charity or donation.
Miss Vandi explained that after consultation with the school authorities,it was agreed that the students be picked from senior secondary classes of SS 1 and SS 2 so that they can be encourage to concentrate on their studies with all seriousness.
She however charged the benefiaries to be good ambassadors by using the opportunity to make the society and their parents proud of this rare privilege accorded to them.
“I want you to take advantage of this support and do better in your academics”.Vandi admonished.
earlier in his address,the cooperatives social Welfare committee chairman,Mr.Benjamin Musa said the gesture was part of the University’s philosophy as a development University.
Responding on the gesture, principal of the college, ,Alhaji Umar Sadiq expressed gratitude to the society for the timely intervention to the students.
“Infact, this is the first time I’m experiencing this kind of gesture since my tenure in office,” Sadiq attested Sadiq said both the parents and the school authority are appreciative of the gesture noting that the society’s effort will go a long way in assisting the students to redouble their academic capabilities.
Happy Edward and Khadiza Sadiq Bayo among the beneficiaries of the award said they are indeed honored and privileged.
They both promised to reciprocate the gesture by studying hard to excel in their acadamic voyage.
