Former Vice President and All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar threw Bauchi town into a celebration mood at the weekend as he made a grand entry into the state to hunt for delegates.

Supporters trooped out in thousands and lined up on both sides of the town’s main thoroughfares as Atiku’s convoys of cars, four wheel drives, mini vans and trucks crawled through the streets.

Excited young men and women in Atiku’s vests and caps sang and danced to campaign songs in Hausa.

Atiku met with PDP delegates and stakeholders asking for their support, while also paying courtesy call on Alhaji Bello Kirfi.

In an interview with newsmen immediately after meeting the stakeholders, Atiku said time for consensus, which is an idea from the PDP is over and that all aspirants are waiting for the APC primaries to hold.

Abubakar also commented on his relationship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying that they have cordial relationship but however maintained that they will always disagree politically but that does not mean they are enemies.
