Confusion has continued to unsettle the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) faithful in Ogwashi Uku community, near Asaba, Delta following the second term Bid of Miss Angela Nwaka to represent Aniocha South constituency at the state House of Assembly, come 2019
Sources said Angela Nwaka currently member, representing Aniocha south Constituency at the state House of Assembly had been alleged to “member of the Audience” who contributes little or nothing to debates at the floor of the House
It was gathered that in the last three years of Nwaka’s representation,She has allegedly not attracted any meaningful development to the areas, especially in Ogwashi Uku community where she hails from, a situation the people vowed to drop her for some one else
But in a swift reaction, Miss Angela Nwaka who spoke to our reporter in Asaba said “ if there is confusion in my community, it is clear that the People don’t appreciate me, I have done a lot In the last three years, and I can’t say all of them here, I want to go back for second term, so that I can finish all I have in mind for my people “
Investigation revealed that over Seven Aspirants are currently struggling for Aniocha south constituency seat at the state House of Assembly, one of them, the current commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr,Austin Chikezie
It was gathered that Chiekezie,an alleged errand man of Mrs Joan Mrakpor,Member, Representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal Constituency, has abysmally failed in his duties as a commissioner, and may not also perform creditably if given the Mandate to go for the Assembly seat
But the people of Ogwashi Uku community have commenced move to effect a change of Miss Angela Nwaka allegedly described as “unmarried woman” who has nothing tangible to offer come 2019 ,and have also resolved consolidate their hold on Aniocha south House of Assembly seat
The people , it was gathered, are saying that for equity and fairness, Ogwashi Uku community deserves to produce representative for the House of Assembly come 2019,certainly not Angela Nwaka
Speaking to our reporter ,the preferred, Ogwashi Uku Developments Association (ODA) ,Rev,John Okolie said “ we have starting sensitization visits to 14 villages out of the over 30 villages that make up the community, we want to produce the next House of Assembly, but the problem now,is that many are rooting for Nwaka, while others want a change, the main thing is that we don’t want to lose the seat to other community, we are not interested as the party the person may come out from, so long the person is from Ogwashi Uku community, before the emergence of the three clans, (Ogwashi Uku,Ubuluku,Nsukwa) as one entity ,the local government had in the past produced two Assembly members representing Ogwashi Uku clan and Ubuluku/Nsukwa clan constituencies respectively”
Further investigation revealed that loyalists and beneficiaries of Angela Nwaka have allegedly hijacked the PDP structure in the areas, insisting it is Nwaka or no other person
The situation, our informed sources said, has unsettled the party leadership and may be heading for a fight to finish if steps are not taken to foil alleged sinister plans by supporters of Angela Nwaka to cause trouble if she does not get the ticket to fly the second term.
