From Femi Oyelola Kaduna

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Right Honourable Isa Mohammed Ashiru has expressed deep concern over the prevalence of a tense situation that has resulted in the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on the Kaduna metropolis and environs by the Kaduna state government.
Ashiru in a statement signed and issued by the Media Committee of Honourable Isa Mohammed Ashiru, Campaign Organisation (HIMACO), described as unfortunate the existence of tension and the resultant panic which are all fall-outs of the recent violence in Kasuwar Magani in Kajuru local government area.
He lamented the situation in which while the violence ended, a rumour-induced tension has pervaded some parts of the Kaduna metropolis and environs.
The PDP governorship candidate, however, appealed to the people of Kaduna state especially those in the affected areas to eschew rumour-mongering and all other acts that are capable aggravating the situation so that normalcy and peace can, once again, reign supreme in the state.
Right Honourable Isa Mohammed Ashiru who commended law-enforcement agents and the military personnel who stopped the possible escalation of the crisis, also called on them to continue to maintain law and order in all parts of Kaduna state.
Similarly, the senator representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani called on all residents to live in peace and harmony because no development can occur amidst rancour.
He made the appeal in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
Sani prayed for the quick recovery of those in hospital and expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost love ones.
