…As Adesina honours 28 retired staff

n a bid to encourage hard work, commitment, determination in service delivery by workers, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has expressed his appreciation to all the retired Directors and consultants that have contributed immensely to the repositioning of the agricultural sector.

Speaking at a farewell Dinner organized by the ministry recently in Abuja, Dr. Adesina extolled the individual qualities of the retirees and commended them for their commitment in ensuring the success of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA).

Dr. Adesina, according to a statement by Tony Ohaeri, Director of Information in the ministry, presented award plaques and gifts to the retirees and thanked the spouses and families of the retirees for showing good understanding during their call to service, especially the extra hours they put in to achieve the desired goal of ATA.

Welcoming the retirees and their spouses, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Arc. Sunday Echono also thanked them for their quality service to their fatherland and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Responding to the good gesture of the minister on behalf of the retirees, the former Senior Technical Adviser to the Minister, Dr. Adetunji Oredipe, thanked the management for appreciating their efforts while in service and pledged their readiness to always be available to share their experiences to ensure the continued success of the ministry’s policies and programmes, especially, the Agricultural Transformation Agenda.

The climax of the ceremony was the presentation of Plaques and Gifts to all the 28 retirees who have distinguished themselves during service.
