The Nigerian Army has called on the neighboring communities of 33 Artillery Brigade not to relent in their effort of praying for the progress of the army and the nation at large.
Brigade Commander, Brigadier General T O Olowameye made the call weekend during an Inter Denominational Church Service to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the S T Michael Catholic Church in the Brigade.
“I want to call on you the communities surrounding the 33 Brigade Shadawanka Bauchi not to relent in praying for the Nigeria Army and the nation for peaceful coexistence”
General Olowameye said the service was an annual event dedicated for the fallen heroes who fought for the unity of the country and those in active service.
The Commander who restated the commitment of the Brigade in ensuring peaceful co-existence in the state, donated money and bags of rice to the two churches in the brigade.
Brigadier General Olowameye expressed appreciation to spouses of the fallen heroes in the brigade for their collective support to the Nigerian Army and directed for immediate compilation of numbers of widows and orphans in the brigade.
In a separate interview with journalists, the Garrison Commander of the Brigade Colonel Christ Ugwu called on the officers and men of the brigade to be dedicated to their duty.
Colonel Christ described the service as success, called on the people to always give the brigade reliable information of the hideout of suspected miscreant for necessary action.
Earlier, the Reverend of the Brigade Church, Lieutenant M E Ochei prayed for the reposed and of the souls of the fallen officers and called on their families to always support the Nigerian army with prayers in order to succeed in its operation.
