Armed bandits kill POS Operator in Delta, disappear with N150,000

Rampaging armed bandits in Ekiugbo community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the Delta State on Saturday shot dead Point of Sale ( POS) Machine Operator identified as Godspower Iguenariende and allegedly made away with his N150,000
The Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) of Ughelli”A” Division, Kelvin Zuokumor who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said that the police have mobilized for the arrest of the suspect Killers , adding that the police would do everything possible to ensure that those hoodlums are brought to arrest within the week.
Zuokumor disclosed that the POS operator was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention when he was shot by the armed bandits, unfortunately could not make it before he arrived the hospital’s premises, adding that the assailants before the police arrived the scene had disappeared
Zuokumor, however, assured that the police will do everything within his power to ensure that the Killers are apprehended to face the wrath of the law and warned that the police will ensure all the suspected cultists in the area are arrested as steps to the investigation.
It was gathered that the POS operator was allegedly shot at the abdomen by the armed bandits before they made away with his N150,000 when passersby were calling for help to sustain the victim
Godspower Iguenariende, according to family sources, until his sudden death, was married with two children and had been working for money leading company before the POS machine business in the area
He was said to have been hoodwinked into fake transaction by the armed bandits, an opportunity that gave way to their evil plan that was in a twinkle of an eye executed amidst unsuspecting passersby who later noticed the unfolding evil drama and attempted to help but was rather late to do so
Residents of the area who spoke to Journalists on condition of anonymity however described Godspower Iguenariende as a complete gentleman and urged the Police to ensure that the hoodlums are brought to arrest soon
Ekiugbo community and its environs have been under siege of hoodlums including kidnappings in the recent times, leaving many of its residents kidnapped and subsequently released after payment of ransom to the abductors but the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) of Ughelli A Division, Kelvin Zuokumor however, assured that the police will reduce the tide and urged the people of the community to always provide the police with useful information.
