Area Council Spends N35m on Mosque Construction

The Muslim staff of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT ) have built a befitting Juma’at mosque worth N35 million with their monthly salaries.
One of the committee members of the mosque, Mr Haruna Usman Izom who made the disclosure in an interview with our correspondent on behalf of the Chief Imam of the mosque, Mallam Abubakar Umar Nana after the commission of the mosque on Friday.
He also disclosed that the authority of the Area Council assisted the staff with N2.5 million for the completion of the mosque.
Nana further revealed that well-wishers contributed financially towards the completion of the mosque.
Addressing the congregation after the Friday prayer in the mosque, the chairman of the Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha Danze, expressed with joy over the completion of Juma’at mosque in the Area Council.
In an interview, one of the Imam Zango Juma’at Mosque in Gwagwalada, Mallam Sabiu Ibrahim who led Juma’at prayer during the commissioning of Area Council Mosque, informed the Muslims that God said whoever built a mosque in this world he would build a house for him in the paradise.
He urged the Muslims across the country to be proud of their religion at all times, while pleading with Muslims to remain committed to their religion.
On his part, the Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji , charged the Muslims to always give their contributions for the building of the mosques whenever the need arises.
It was observed that during the commissioning of the mosque the refuse which was dumped in the Area Council for the past two months was evacuated.

The commissioning ceremony attracted traditional rulers, politicians and Muslim clergymen among other dignitaries.
