A Senior Magistrates’ court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, has sentenced an 18-year old applicant, Awal Musa, to one month in prison for trespassing into a petrol filling station.
Musa, who resides at Jabi Gidan Bola, Abuja, was arraigned on a three-count charge of joint act, criminal trespass and attempt to commit offence alongside one Ibrahim, now at large.
The Magistrate, Mr Aminu Eri, sentenced Musa after he pleaded guilty to trespassing into the station.
He, however, gave him an option of N200 fine and advised him to look for a means of livelihood.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Babangida Joseph, told the court that on June 10, one Mohammed Sariki and Christian John lodged the report at the Wuse Police Station.
He said that the two men were the security guards attached to Total Filling Station, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja.
The prosecutor said that earlier on the same date the accused and one Ibrahim now at large trespassed into the premises with intent to steal.
He said the offences contravened sections 79, 349 and 95 of the Penal code, respectively. (NAN)
