From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina

Following the verdict of the appel Court that reaffirmed the election of Governor Masari , Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa, the secretary to the Government of katsina state has expressed the commitment of the APC administration to provide quality leadership, accountability and more people oriented projects in the state.
Inuwa while reacting on the verdict in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina, said the court verdict has vindicated the people of katsina State by reaffirming their mandate given during the 2019 general election.
According to him, Governor Masari, the APC and the electorates in the state were already calmed and confident in the election results even though the opposition had decided to take legal action.
“The landslide victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari in the elections was unprecedented and second to none in all the states of the federation”.
While thanking the people of the state for their unflinching support and cooperation to the state administration, the SGS assured that, the APC led administration of Governor Masari would remain focused and firm towards realizing its restoration agenda.
It would be recalled that, the Federal High Court of Appeal in Kaduna had last Thursday dismissed the suit filed by the PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke challenging the decision of the state Election Petition Tribunal which upheld the election of Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
The five Judges while delivering the judgement declared that, the APC candidate, Governor Aminu Bello Masari was duly qualified to contest the katsina state Governorship election held in 2019.
The Judges therefore reaffirmed the decision of the lower court that, the suit instituted by the PDP candidate and the party against the APC candidate and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, lack merit.
