Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has described the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja reaffirming his election as governor as ‘victory’, for the people of the state who gave him a second term mandate.
The Governor said this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Terver Akase yesterday in his reaction to the judgement of the Appeal Court Abuja Division which dismissed the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate Emmanuel Jime against him.
He noted that the Appellate Court verdict has not only validated the earlier judgment of the Governorship Election Tribunal but also confirmed the choice of Benue voters in the 2019 polls.
While appreciating God for the victory as well as the Peoples’ Democratic Party and his legal team, Ortom stressed that the task of building the state is the responsibility of all its people, reiterating his call on the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC for the 2019 governorship election, Barrister Emmanuel Jime and other contestants in the last election to join hands with him to develop the State.
Governor Ortom also, emphasized the willingness of his administration to collaborate with sons and daughters of the state irrespective of political differences, ethnicity, religion and place of origin, for a greater Benue.
