The Apostolic Church Nigeria, LAWNA Territory, at the weekend performed the flag-off of the construction of a 70-unit residential housing estate in Ketu, Lagos.
Named: ‘Good Shepherd Estate’, the project, comprising twelve units of four-bedroom semi-detached houses and 58 units of four-bedroom terrace houses, is located on 5.7 acres of land belonging to the church near The Apostolic Estate, Ketu, in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The estate, which is meant to be delivered in 12 months, will accommodate both members of The Apostolic Church (TAC) and the public, but preference will be given to the church members. These facts were disclosed by Mr. Sesan Obe, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, SF Engineering Ltd, the firm handling the construction.
Describing the project as the TAC’s way of supporting Lagos state government in its pursuit of providing affordable housing for its residents, Mr. Obe said the houses will be affordable, as that is the mission of the residential estate which estimate cost is put at over a billion naira.
The SF Engineering boss, who noted that construction work will commence on site as soon as the building approval of the estate is finalised by the state government and received by the developers.
He disclosed that the funding of the project will be done by First Bank of Nigeria. According to him, there is also mortgage facility from the mortgage unit of First Bank for prospective subscribers who want to purchase their housing units through mortgage financing.
Performing the ground-breaking ceremony, the National President and Chairman, LAWNA Territory of TAC, Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel Oladele Olutola noted that it had pleased God to keep the ownership of the land to this time of commencing the construction of the estate.
Obe said the estate offers a safe, secure and serene environment for top notch family living. Prominent facilities that would be provided include a 24-hours power supply, central waste disposal system, CCTV camera, 24 hours security service, constant water supply, recreational facilities and fitness centre. Others are good road network, good drainage system, street lighting, swimming pool, mini mart and ample parking space amongst others.
