House of Representatives candidate for Chikun/ Kajuru constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, yesterday flagged off his campaign ahead of the 2019 election.
Honourable Adams who enjoyed automatic ticket of his party, was also handed over the party flag to commence his campaign.
Others who received the party flags were Yerima Nathan, House of Assembly candidate for Chikun constituency and Grace Sylvester, candidate for Kajuru constituency.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Ekele’s Romi/Ungwan Yelwa Ward Chairman, Yusuf Musa, said that the party is positioned to free Nigerians from decades of misrule and poor representation.
On his part, APGA Kaduna State Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Rahama, who handed over the flags to the respective candidates amidst mammoth supporters, said that by God’s grace, Ekene Abubakar Adams will triumph in the 2019 polls.
He said the party does not promote tribal or religious sentiments, adding that the state executives will give him 100 percent support in his quest to emerge the representative of Chikun/Kajuru constituency at the National Assembly.
Addressing party supporters and well wishers, Hon. Adams said he was overwhelmed by the turn out of well-wishers both from APGA and other political parties to support him.
“You can see APC, PDP and other party supporters here all because of me. Go and dust your Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), I am telling you that with your support and prayers, we would do better. If given the opportunity, I will run an all inclusive representation”, he said.
He appreciated the leadership of the party for considering him worthy of an automatic ticket, assuring that he will not let the party down.
“For 16 good years, my people in Kajuru/Chikun have not seen the dividends of democracy. Whatever belongs to them, I promise them they will not be shortchanged,” he said.
Traditional rulers and other clergy from Chikun /Kajuru constituency, who were represented at the flag off, prayed for the candidates’ successes at the polls.
