Speaking tojournalists after his screening, the former NERC boss, Sam Amadi said, “I think the screening is most transparent I have ever witnessed. The panelists werethere in the open while the aspirants were seated until they are called. Theygave us forms containing questionnaires and we filled it and they engage you ina question and answer session.”
On whether he isintimidated by the number of aspirants for Imo sate governorship position,Amadi said, “When we entered this race we wanted to show to Imo peoplethat we were the best to tackle the challenges they were faced with.
“There are somany aspirants out there, some are strong for having been there for too long, while others are coming out with experiences they gathered in other fields ofendeavours, butmy believe is that the party and the people of Imo state clearly needs a SamAmadi to fix our economy and infrastructure decay.
Also fieldingquestions from journalists, the ex Diamond Bank MD, Alex Oti said the screeningwas targeted at getting the right candidates to displace the incumbent Governorof Abia state in 2019 and to serve as true representative of the party, even ashe assessed the incumbent Governor poorly.
He noted that if 2015 proved to be difficult, 2019 would be easier to win, adding, “In 2015the incumbent Governor of Abia state had not been tested, but now that he hasbeen there for three year he has not been able to prove himself and meet the aspirationsof the people.
“I am surethat if there were people who voted for him in 2015, a lot of them would befeeling remorseful becausehe has not done well.”
