Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has warned all aspirants and their supporters on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from causing mayhem during the build up to the 2015 general elections.

Amosun, who gave the warning in Ifo; the headquarters of Ifo local government area of the state in continuation of his assessment tour to the 20 local government areas in the state threatened that any aspiring member of the APC in the state that indulged in violent activities would be disqualified from participating in the elections.

The governor said the people of the state would collectively wage war against any politician who had the intention of causing mayhem in the state, stressing that the era of violence had gone in the state.

It would be recalled that 20 year-old Femi Amosun was killed in Ilaro during the local government assessment tour on Monday.

The governor in his word said, “In Ogun State, we do not resort to violence. The era of violence is gone. I was told yesterday that something happened after we left Ilaro. We were there like this yesterday and I did not know that anything happened, it was when we finished and started going that I was told that some people were fighting.

“Please, nobody should bring violence to Ogun State again. Violence has gone for good in our politics in Ogun State. Anybody that indulges in violence in the state, the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on such people.

“Anybody that indulges in violence will not be part of our great party; they can go to another party. Even in Ogun, We will not allow any party to indulge in violence. Any party that does that, all of us will jointly fight the party,” he said.

“I want to plead with all of us, nobody benefits from the atmosphere of violence, I have been saying this every day. Thank God, we are doing the 18th local government today; the era of fighting because you want to get to an office is over.

“Anybody that fight, though, we create level playing field for every. Anyone that indulges in violence, I have the authority of our great party that such people will not contest and will be disqualified by the national headquarters of the party.

“Whoever is chosen is our candidate, I want to admonish us, and we should not indulge in any violence. I have been saying it, our party; even Ogun State should demonstrate to other states in Nigeria that we are truly Ogun State.

“Violence is not allowed, anybody that does that, I can conveniently tell you that such person will not be allowed to contest. I repeat, such person will not contest and will be disqualified and that I will ensure that it is done”.
