APC caucus backs El-Rufai plans to seek 350m dollars loan, recruit 25,000 teachers

Kaduna All Progressives Congress (APC) Executives has declared support for the plan by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El’rufai, to seek $350 million loan and to recruit 25,000 teachers in the state.
The party leaders also urged the state House of Assembly to speed up local government area election law amendment for the state.
The state APC made their resolution known after a combined Executive and Caucus meeting at the weekend.
The meeting had in attendance, the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the Deputy Governor, Arc. Yusuf Bala Barnabas, members of the National Assembly and the Kaduna State House of Assembly, and political appointees at both national and state levels.
The State Acting Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Idris, in his welcome address thanked the Governor, the Deputy Governor, members of the State and National Assemblies, leaders and members of the party at ward, local government, zonal and state levels for their commitment and dedication to the growth of the party.
The chairman also affirmed that the party will continue to stand by its members at executive and legislative arms of government towards even development of Kaduna State and the country at large.
The Governor explained that it is a 50-year repayment loan at 0.5 percent interest rate, adding that it is a purely development loan on which the Kaduna State Government has met all the requirements of the World Bank.
On the issue of fresh recruitment of 25,000 primary school teachers, the Governor briefed the meeting on the background and processes that necessitated the competency test which he explained was devoid of biases, prejudice and favoritism except government commitment to revive education in the state at the critical foundation of primary school.
He further highlighted the commitment of the government to State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM) by appointing credible and trustworthy persons to run affairs of the commission, providing adequate funds to ensure that the commission meets all required logistics, along with security support to ensure successful and peaceful local government elections.
