A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker committee, Prof. Tahir Mamman, yesterday told journalists in Abuja that the tenure of the Governor Mai Mala Buni led interim leadership of the party will not be extended.
Briefing journalists at the party National Secretariat in Abuja, Mamman said the committee has a time frame and mandate given by President Muhammadu Buhari, with which they are working strictly.
“We are working within our mandate, we are not working for any extension of time. If those who gave us job should think of extension, that would come from them”, he said while responding to questions from journalists on the limited time at their disposal.
Mamman who represents North-east in the Caretaker committee said also that the APC is united in Adamawa, adding that leadership of the party is not a problem.
According to him, “We don’t have that as a problem now. As a member of Caretaker Committee, l am telling you now that as far as l am concerned, we don’t have that as an issue. We only have very senior stakeholders, including those you mentioned.
“I have been meeting all the stakeholders in Adamawa and the North East. I represent the North East and all those people you have mentioned. l have interacted with them. So, these are just another group of stakeholders of the party in the state who are giving us ideas on how to make progress in the party. So there are no issues at all.”
He further said the essence of the visit was to show how united APC has been in Adamawa state, adding that no specific individual is leader of the party in the state.
