APC calls for result cancellation in Bayelsa, as alleged PDP thugs snatch election materials

Following alleged snatching of election materials in Southern Ijaw Ward 17, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has called for the cancellation of the results.
Southern Ijaw is the biggest Local Government Area in Bayelsa state, and it is close to the sea. It is also known as the hot bed of militant activities.
Briefing Journalists in Yenagoa on what transpired INNTHE area, Mr.David Sese, the Chairman APC Ward 17, decried that besides snatching election materials at gun point, he said some thugs allegedly sponsored by members of the PDP in the area threatened the SPO at gun point to write results.
Sese, in a statement also signed by Silas Koko, APC Ward 17 agent, lamented that immediately the election materials arrived the Seaside Community of Koloama 2, the RA centre Friday night, thugs allegedly sponsored by PDP heavy weights in the area invaded the town hall and overpowered the electoral officials and carted away the materials at gun point.
“They invaded the town hall where materials were been sort out, sensitive materials snatched by the thugs holding dangerous weapons and took them to Hon. Nimibofa’s compound for writing of results”, he alleged, stressing “ the said thugs were armed and in their numbers.
As such, there was no election at Southern Ijaw Ward 17”, Sese added.
He however added that the Soldiers on patrol were alerted at the development, and their quick intervention tamed the thugs activities. “Some of them were arrested”, he further informed .
According to him, “the RA Center at Koloama is not safe for further electoral activities due to the nefarious activities of the PDP”
He advised that the eleven unit materials meant for units Located in Koloama 1 “be directly distributed from Yenagoa to Koloama 1 in subsequent elections if it will not be possible to relocate the RA Center from Koloama 2 to avoid communal crisis”.
Also speaking INNTHE same vain, Chief Cliford Wilson, Cordinator , Niger Delta Peace Initiative, recalled that thugs alleged “veer powered the occupants of 115 Horse Power Speed boat , and took the materials to Koloama 2”.
The aggrieved APC Stalwarts called on security agents to investigate and arrest of the top PDP politicians that “led thugs to snatch the boats at gun point”.
They further called on INEC to cancel the elections this area due to the thuggish activities of the PDP. “We will head for the tribunal should INEC declares the results”, the APC supporters vowed.
